The Replacement Planet is a spin-off sequel to The Legacy of Zoey Pearce: The Long Road. The fourth book in The Experimental Stages, with another set of brand-new characters, plot and story entirely. Meet Jacob Drake, who just recently graduated high school, and go on the journey of leaving Earth, which is about to be destroyed by the sun. Jacob and his best friend Taylor, as well as his childhood best friend Amira, discover that something is going on with the government. They are running experiments on people to see who can survive a procedure and become their worker for the new planet. Upon discovering what the experiment does and that many people have died from it, the trio of friends try to end the experiment. But, when they do, things go horribly wrong and Jacob ends up in the machine. But, he doesn't die, and instead becomes one of the smartest men to ever exist in all of history. But, he has to work for the government and not only does he find out why they were doing the experiment, he also discovers that not everything is as good as they claim on the new planet that they're colonizing. Jacob must help them to make the planet better and stop them from putting people in harm's way. He must also help his mother against her abusive boyfriend and deal with those problems. But, there are more problems than just those, and Jacob is constantly trying to figure out how to fix them.
